FREE TSA PreCheck® - Disabled Veterans May Qualify

A faster airport experience may be available to qualifying disabled veterans… at no enrollment or renewal fee.

Through the Veterans Expedited TSA Screening (VETS) Safe Travel Act, eligible veterans with qualifying service-connected disabilities may receive free TSA PreCheck® enrollment or renewal.

Who qualifies?

The benefit is limited to veterans who:

Are enrolled in VA healthcare, and

Have a service-connected disability involving permanent blindness, or

Require a VA-issued wheelchair or prosthetic limb.

How does it work?

If you meet the eligibility requirements, the VA identifies eligible veterans and makes a TSA PreCheck Application Fee Waiver Letter available through your VA.gov account.

Look under Benefit letters and documents for your TSA PreCheck Application Fee Waiver Letter.

You then enroll or renew through an eligible TSA PreCheck enrollment provider and follow the provider's instructions for using the waiver.

TSA PreCheck can provide access to dedicated security lanes and a more streamlined airport screening experience when traveling.

Important: The fee waiver does not guarantee acceptance into TSA PreCheck. All standard TSA PreCheck eligibility requirements still apply.
